Every pattern starts with one loop, one question, one Saturday afternoon.
Loop Patterns is a home for crochet patterns that actually make sense — written by makers who test every stitch before you ever pick up a hook.
How Loop Patterns started
Loop Patterns began with a frustration most crocheters know well: a pattern that looks beautiful in the photo and falls apart the moment you try to follow it. Missing stitch counts. Vague instructions. A finished piece that never quite matches the picture.
We started this site to fix that, one pattern at a time. Every design here is written in plain language, tested by a real person with a real hook, and checked twice before it’s published — whether it’s a first amigurumi for a total beginner or a lace shawl for someone who’s been crocheting for twenty years.
We’re not a big studio. We’re a small, growing collection of makers who believe a pattern should teach you something, not just give you a finished object.
“If a pattern confuses you, that’s on the pattern — not on you.”
What you’ll find here
Patterns organized the way makers actually think about them — by what you’re ready to try next.
First hook — Beginner patterns
Simple, forgiving projects with extra guidance on stitch counts, tension, and reading a pattern for the first time.
Comfortable pace — Intermediate patterns
Garments, homeware, and amigurumi that introduce new techniques without overwhelming you.
Slow & detailed — Advanced patterns
Lacework, colorwork, and shaping for makers who want a pattern that respects their skill.
Why makers trust Loop Patterns
Every pattern is tested. Before anything is published, someone here has made it — start to finish, with the exact instructions you’ll read.
Plain-language instructions. No unexplained abbreviations, no skipped steps. If a term might trip you up, we define it right there.
Free to make, always. The core pattern library stays free. We’d rather grow a community than put a paywall on someone’s first amigurumi.
Built by makers, not marketers. Every article is written by someone who crochets — not someone filling a content calendar.
